The Trinket Trio
For my body of work I decided to focus on bowls. I ended up making them all super tiny. They are all little trinket dishes for rings or earrings. Since there are three, I called them, "The Trinket Trio". I am really happy how they turned out, each one with its own unique shape. Even though they all have the same color scheme, they are all different shapes and sizes. I love how small and cute they are. :)
The Snack Bowl
I decided to make a snack bowl for my "Dish for your Dish" project. I made it by putting my clay in a bowl and letting it mold into that shape overnight. Then I took it in to get fired, then I dip glazed it, and got it fired one final time. This bowl is a smaller bowl, so it is perfect for snacks and even a few scoops of ice cream!
Breathe
I decided to choose anxiety as my awareness for my "Your Voice Matters" project. Anxiety is something that lots of people struggle with, including myself. So many people struggle with this but no one has any idea they are. I think it is important to break the stigma and show that it is okay to talk openly about the things so many of us struggle with. I chose the word "breathe" because it is a word I repeat in my head very often. Taking deep breaths is one of the most helpful things you can do when in a moment of panic. Some people may see the word breathe and think nothing of it, but to me, the word means so much more.
My vision was to make a jewelry dish, and carve the word breathe in cursive. I used underglaze in order to carve the word. The cursive turned out great, and I am very happy with the simplicity of the dish.
The Speckled Cylinder
Below is one of the few pencil holders I actually ended up making. I decided to try a fun method of glaze with this one. I dipped it in white glaze, then used black underglaze to speckle overtop of that. I absolutely love how it turned out. I love the speckle, and I think it is so fun.
Bowl from the Beginning
This is one of the very first bowls I ever made. It was the first thing I ever glazed. It is the largest bowl I made, and can hold pasta or ice cream. I really like the shape of it, and the dark purple color.
Bowl from the Beginning
Part Two
This is another one of the first bowls I ever made. I remember finding it in the back of my cubbie one day, and thought it looked horrible. I ended up trimming it and glazing it anyways though, because I thought, why not? I stuck with a simple white color, and hoped for the best. When it came out of the kiln, and I saw it, I ended up loving the shape! That shows that even if it looks bad at one stage, it may look amazing in the next! So, it taught me to not give up on my work.
Mother's Day Special
The pieces below, I gifted to my mom for Mother's Day! I didn't make them specifically for that cause, for when I liked how they turned out, I thought she'd love them. I used the glazing speckle method with the bowl, just like the cylinder before, but instead of black underglaze, I used a light blue glaze. It is very simple and that's what I love about it.
I also made her two coasters!
One day, I thought of the idea of throwing coasters! I thought it sounded like it would be fun, practical, and not too hard either. I asked Ms. Sanyour about it, and she helped teach me how. I ended up making three coasters, two which I gifted to my mom. My mom uses coasters all the time, so I thought they would be perfect for her. I used a simple color that would match with anything, and I love how they turned out.

Teacher Appreciation
Pencil Holders
For teacher appreciation week, I decided to make Mr. Dowell, my math teacher, a pencil holder. All of the pencils on his desk are in a plastic cup, so I thought it would be nice if he had a hand made pencil holder instead. I glazed it a dark shade of green, and I love how the color turned out! (see photos at the bottom of the collage)
I also made one for Ms. Truman! Funny story, I didn't actually throw this one. Bowen was throwing and he made a "mess up" piece, but to me it looked amazing. I didn't have enough time to make Ms. Truman her pencil holder, since I was running behind, so I asked Bowen if I could use it, since he was just going to recycle it anyways. I ended up trimming it and glazing it, so we basically worked on this piece together. We are going to both deliver it to her, and I think she will love it. I think the color is perfect, and so is the shape!

The Forgotten Coaster
This coaster is one of the three coasters I made. I got so caught up in my mom's Mother's Day coasters, that I forgot I had another one. I found it on the table one day, and was very excited to see I had another one! I glazed it a purple color, the same as the bowl I made. I love how thin and simple it turned out, and I can't wait to use it.
